Woolen Vest with Collar and Ribbing

Looks like snow is keeping away for this winter season. So far the weather was pretty good compared to last year winter.

This time I just thought of making a Vest with Wool. I have used linked dc for most part of the vest with dc ribbing for the ends and collar with sc sts.  This can be made for boys or girls, and is best for the winter season to be used as layering with other Jackets.

Green and White Striped Sweater

Yes it is time for some baby boy outfit. This sweater in green and white stripes is good combination for the little ones. This jacket is worked from bottom to top with seams just for shoulders. Rest everything is worked as just one piece. This one is made with out sleeves.  Adding sleeves to this is just very easy. But I felt it looked better without sleeves. Will make another one with sleeves next time.
I made this as a gift for friends baby. I also made a knitted beanie in green and white stripes to go with this. But just missed to take the pictures of it. :(

If you would like to make this sweater I have added the pattern to my online store @

Ribbed Dress in Pink and White

Another Dress in Pink and White. This has ribbed bodice that stretches. Flowers are added around the neckline. The dress is mostly worked with double Crochet. So it is easy to work with it. As most of my other crochet dresses this is also worked as just one piece without seams.

Crochet & Knit Top

This top is worked with Crochet & Knitting.
The Knitting bodice gives it a lot of stretch and room to grow. So this can be used for longer period.

This is worked as one piece. It is crocheted from Neck to Arm hole opening, Rest knitted. The bottom edge is ribbed to give a better finishing. The antique finish buttons give it a Vintage look. This is my first design combining crochet & knitting. I loved it. I have also made this Knitted beanie to match with it.

This is for sale in my  store @

Dress with Flower

A good pairing with Jeans pant.. Also gives good warmth

Bottom Edging

Most of the time baby girl dresses comes up with pink or shades of pink. Just for change I thought of doing something with brown this time.  Flower motif added gives it more girly look. I have used puff stitch and shell scallop in this. It is worked with soft worsted weight yarn.

This can be easily modified by adding few more rows to make it a full size dress.
The pattern includes instructions to modify the same..

The pattern for the same is added in my Etsy Store @

I have been thinking of doing some knit project from so long time. So with this I give start to my first Knitting project. A very simple knit hat with garter stitch all the way. The basic stitch in knitting that every beginner know. I have also added up a dress which matches with this hat here

Knitted hats gives a lot of stretch compared to the crochet hats I make.

Cozy Woolen Jacket

Looks like my little one is warm and cozy in her new suit :)

So are you all interested in sewing a Jacket with lining for this Winter. If so here I give you some tips with some pictures for simple Woolen Jacket. I have not included step by step tutorial for this. But I hope few tips and pictures here would give a good idea of how to make this. If you are novice to sewing It would be a bit difficult for you to grasp this just with the very little information I provide here. The one I made here is for 6months- 12months baby size. But If you follow the instructions and modify it  you can just make it for any size of your choice.

Material Required:
Wool / Wool Blend Fabric : 3/4 " yd(58/60" wide)
polyester Lining :  1yd(45" wide)
Buttons: 3

For Front and Back piece:

Cut Back and Front piece together using measurements from a loose fitting dress. The length should be X(Your desired length for Jacket) + 1/2"(seam allowance). Now cut the front piece along the middle as you see in picture . The lining piece and the actual fabric should be cut in the same way with same measurements for back and front.

Now attach the 2 front pieces to the back piece with right side facing. Now you have 2 different pieces , one for lining and other actual fabric. Next step is to attach the lining  to the actual fabric. With Right side facing  as shown in picture sew along the sides and neck opening. Do not sew the shoulder and arm holes together. Now turn the pieces right side out and sew in the shoulder pieces.

Cut 4 pieces ( 2each from lining and actual fabric) For hand.
Now with right side facing sew along the bottom part of pieces (lining and actual fabric) together. Now turn it out and sew along the sides. Now you get a piece as shown in picture. Do this for both the arm pieces. Now attach the hands to the already sewn piece.

Next step is to hem the bottom. You can use either blind hem using sewing machine or with hands. I did blind hem with hand sewing.

Now you can add the plackets for front opening and collar. This is similar to the kurta tutorial here

As this is my first try on jacket with lining It was a kind of learning phase for me too. So it took me a while to get everything in place. But I am happy that I have got some idea into how I can make it better next time.

Classic Sweater

The fall just got over giving way to the coldest season of the year. So it is right time to get into some winter wear. I have worked this sweater with two different yarn. The Ruffles at the bottom and all the neck and front opening is made of worsted weight yarn in black color and the rest of the sweater is worked with bulky yarn with shades of black and ash color. I have added two buttons in front. Ruffles at the bottom and hands give cuteness to the sweater. I started with thinking of making a simple sweater. This designs just happened by chance as I was working.

This outfit (including fleece pants and hat) that my little one is wearing in this is created by me. The yellow fleece pants is real good for the chilly weather outside. I will be sharing a tutorial for it soon once I get time. The hat is a simple pattern worked with hdc and sc all the way from top to end..
