Baby Booties in Red

It is been a while I have not been sharing any new projects. The warm weather outside was keeping me busy with many other stuffs that I gave a break to crocheting. But the winter will be back soon and I have started with so many new projects for this winter. Let me start this with this booties. I have made this for a baby welcome party. Pumpkin Hat Halloween Special

Been away for a while. Summer season is not great for crochet and knitting accessories. So took a break and did some Jewelry designing.

Fairy Shell Top in Pink

Breathable Top/Dress Perfect for the summer.
The dress is worked with light weight yarn in pink. I have used fairy shell stitch for bottom part of the dress. IT can be made a dress or top with pants by just adding the fairy shell stitch rows.

The shoulder straps are not fixed in back for this. I have just tied it as a knot in the back for a change. But I loved this method now than the way I always do.

Choker with Green Agate Beads

I have been updating with wire beaded bangles now let me introduce matching Necklace to go with them. It is a choker and fits perfect to your neck. It has magnetic clasp on the ends to hold together. I have added agate beads to give it a better finishing. Copper wire 28ga or 26ga in best to work with wired jewelry of these kind.

I am in love with Wired Jewelry. It is driving me crazy these days. But working with copper wire is pain in hands. I should go with more thin copper wire than the one I am using now. The green glass beads are looking great with the copper shades. I just loved it. Hoping to try more shades and more techniques with this. This one is wider bangle than the one I posted previously. This is done in three rounds of copper wires.. Will give a try with a more wider bangle next time. Till then A short break.. :)

Shrug for Women

I keeps myself busy with creating dresses for little girls most of the time that I get no no time to do something for me. Here is simple circular shrug for women Worked in Round all the way with no seams. It does not take a long time to work with this. Very easy and fun pattern to work with an elegant outfit at the end. I have used popcorn stitch for this in most of the rounds. Then all the basic crochet stitches. In my patterns I do give picture tutorial for the popcorn stitch used.

Blooming Pettiskirt

I love to see the little girls wearing the petti skirt with lots and lots of flares around. So I always wanted to make one for my little one. It can also be used as an add on with the long gowns to give that perfect look.

I bought 2 yds each of light and dark pink tulle to make this. The satin material at the waist was the one that I already had in my fabric scraps. Light pink Satin fabric would have looked more good with this combination than the one I used. But as I already had this I just went ahead with this dark color satin.

Summer Top In Yellow and Green

These are the right colors to mark the Spring. Yellow and Green. These Colors just brights up everyone. Though it is sleeveless this too can be used through out the year by layering it up with other tops during the winter season. The Dress is worked with shell scallop stitch most of the way with some fpdc and bpdc around the waist area. It is a simple Dress to work with But a Beautiful dress to wear. The Top has 2 Button Closures in the Front.

I create a lot these days that I rarely get time to update everything here these days. So most of the time I am making so many updates together but just change the date for everything in post settings to make it show up in different dates

Orange Blossom Dress

Another addition to the Spring Collection. Orange Blossom Dress. The name says it all. Bright Colorful Dress. The fabric is from http://www.joann.com/. Check out the step by step picture instructions on how to make this simple dress.

Material Required

Cut the back and front from a best fitting dress adding 3-4 inches around the neck for gathering.

The front and back piece

Make for bias strips:2 for Shoulder ties and 2 for back front neck.

Zig Zag finish the sides to prevent fraying of the edges
make biasing stitch along front and back neckline and gather it to your actual dress size as shown

Pink Ruffle Dress with Lace

Ruffles Tend to be my weakness these days. I add Ruffles to anything and everything I make :) But it is so cute. I just love it. This dress/gown is made using Satin, and Lace. The top part of the dress is smoked all around and gives stretch and room to grow, so the dress can be used as the little one gets bigger. My darling daughter was very happy to play around in this pretty dress of hers. She looks happy :)

Reversible A Line Jumper Dress

It is time to bring in some spring clothing for the little ones. Let me start with a Reversible Dress. I have added pics for most of the steps to make this dress. I have used brown polka dots for one side and monkey print in green for the other side. I have also added a Ribbon along the front side of polka dot fabric.

Always make sure to press open all the seams to get the perfect finishing for any garment that you make

The two fabrics are sewn along the sides.

One of the fabric is slide into the other so that the right side of both the fabrics are facing each other. Then sew along the Arm hole openings and front and back neck openings of both fabrics together. Now turn the dress inside out. Fold the hem of both dress inside sew along the ends.

Birthday Dress with Ruffles and Flower

It was really tough task for me to decide on what Dress I will make for my little one for her Birthday. So far all dresses I made for her was special made with love. So this should be more special and stand out from all other dresses I made so far. From the 3 dresses I made for her this was the one that made to her special day. During night light this was perfect for the party.

The dress is with Ruffles all around in both silk and tulle in each layer of Ruffle. IT has smoking on the back and I made a flower with the same fabric and attached it on to piece of tulle and then hand stitched it to the front of the dress.
The satin Ribbon Sash was the one that gives it the final touch. Here are some snaps of the dress from all views.

After attaching the First Ruffle Layer.. This layer is with out the tulle The next layer comes with the satin fabric and tulle ruffled and attached together. The tulle is placed below the satin fabric.

Party : Winnie The Pooh themed Birthday

Time just fly. The last one year was the most memorable year in my life. I was enjoying every moment with my darling daughter.

Winnie the Pooh was her favorite toy most of the time. She calls it by "mimi". So thought will go ahead with Pooh theme for the party. We celebrated her birthday from our home with few families to join us in celebrate her birthday. It was her first birthday and I did not want her to loose any fun in it by bringing a lot of crowd.

I did have so many different designs in mind for her birthday dress. I made 3 special occasion dresses for her, 2 in pink and 1 in white. One dress was crocheted using Crocodile stitch and the other two was stitched. Finally decided to go with the white one as the party was in the late evening and white would be perfect at that time.

The goody bags for kids who came to celebrate the party was also made by me using pooh themed fabric that I got from Hobby Lobby. Also I made few headbands as gifts for all cute little girls who joined the party to add to their goody bag.

I was planning to buy this from some time to decorate her room. IT look so good. I loved the Growth chart a lot. The other one is just ok.

The Birthday banner is from Hobby Lobby and I added Pooh Stickers on each letter to blend with the theme. The Bow is made by me using wired Ribbon From Hobby Lobby. I did make one more bow with unwired Ribbon. Wired Ribbon stay in shape the way you want while the other one just droop down if you don't hold it well and place it while decorating.

Then I decorated Foam sheet I bought here

This center piece was just arranged using most of the pooh themed toys already at home and I just put some chocolates into it and the helium balloons with Pooh and Piglet Figurine bought from party city @ Helium Balloon

Overall the birthday party was so much of fun for her with so many kids who came to celebrate her birthday.

Flower Girl Dress in Teal

It is New year and I am extremely busy from past few weeks and for few more weeks to go. I have a lots in my To do List for coming few weeks. I have some DIY for all out there for next month. Now let me go ahead with my recent work.

Flower Girl Dress in Teal. Teal is one of my favorite color. It is so cool. I loved the way the dress turned out. The yarn was so soft to work. The dress have button closure in the back. I have made it in 12-18months size. So it is bit loose for my little one as of now. I have used another multicolor yarn to work the stripes that runs along the dress. The variegated nature of that yarn makes the stripes look different colors at different places. But that too make it overall some good look.
I also made a matching headband to go with it. The flower motif is attached on an alligator clip, so it can be used either on headband or can be put on the dress.

Hat with Flower Earflaps

This is a must have accessory for little one in the cold weather outside. And the Ear flaps are not just an add on it just helps me to keep my little one from taking off the hat every time I try to put it on for her. Woolen Vest with Collar and Ribbing

Looks like snow is keeping away for this winter season. So far the weather was pretty good compared to last year winter.

This time I just thought of making a Vest with Wool. I have used linked dc for most part of the vest with dc ribbing for the ends and collar with sc sts. This can be made for boys or girls, and is best for the winter season to be used as layering with other Jackets.

Men's Hat in Blue and White

I was keeping busy with so many projects these days that I have couple of items that are completed yet to be added up here. Thought of sharing this hat pattern for Men. This is the first time I am sharing a Knitting pattern here. Hope it helps.. DO let me know if you come across any errors in the pattern. I have written this pattern after making 2 hats of 2 different sizes of the same color pattern.

Materials :
1 Skein Lion Brand Wool ease Blue(Col A)
1 Skein Lion Brand Wool ease White(COl B)
Double pointed knitting Needles or Circular Knitting needle(4.7mm)
Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
K- Knit, P - Purl, sts - stitches, p2tog - Purl 2 stitches together

With Col A Cast on 68 sts on dpn or circular knitting needle. Join
Round 1 : k2 , p2 around (2*2 Ribbing)
repeat Round 1 until the work measures 1.5"

Color Pattern Followed :
Set A: Next 4 Rounds: Purl around
Set B: Next 2 Rounds : With Col B Purl around
Continue Set A & Set B Until work from beginning measures 8"

Now the Top of the hat Decrement go as follows: (Continue doing this with color pattern as used until now: 4rows purl with Col A & 2 Rows Purl with Col B)

Round 1: *p2tog, p11, Repeat for 5 times, p3
Round 2: purl around
Round 3: *p2tog, p7, repeat around
Round 4: purl around
Round 5: *p2tog, p6, repeat around
Round 6: Purl Around
Round 7: *p2tog, p5, repeat around
Round 8: Purl around
Round 9: *p2tog, p4, repeat around
Round 10: Purl around
Round 11: *p2tog, p3, repeat around
Round 12: purl around
Round 13: *p2tog, p2, repeat around
Round 14: purl around
Round 15: *p2tog, p1, repeat around
Round 16: purl around
Round 17: *p2tog, repeat around

Cut a long tail. Using tapestry needle or crochet hook pass this through remaining stitches pull tight and weave in ends..

Green and White Striped Sweater

Yes it is time for some baby boy outfit. This sweater in green and white stripes is good combination for the little ones. This jacket is worked from bottom to top with seams just for shoulders. Rest everything is worked as just one piece. This one is made with out sleeves. Adding sleeves to this is just very easy. But I felt it looked better without sleeves. Will make another one with sleeves next time.
I made this as a gift for friends baby. I also made a knitted beanie in green and white stripes to go with this. But just missed to take the pictures of it. :(
